The following quotes (and explanations) provide a woven tapestry of understanding and, together, shed light on the philosophy of this (someday) mega-corporation and crystal palace of all that is beer and all that is good. In other words, other folks said it, but it applies to us.

He who will not risk, Cannot win!
John Paul Jones

This was NOT the bassist from Led Zeppelin that said this; rather, the Revolutionary War naval hero and captain of the Bonnham Richard, Captain Jonh Paul Jones. Obviously he was referring to his tactics during naval battles, but this can be applied to life just as effectively. We look at it as employing a "going for it" attitude when pursuing a passion. In today's world, those who put their personal assets at risk and their nose to the grindstone to make a dream a reality are often demonized as greedy. We do not agree and raise a glass to anyone who has dared to answer the call of their entrepreneurial spirit.
In the history of the world, no one has ever washed a rented car.
Lawrence Summers

Larry Summers is an American Economist and served as the 71st United States Secretary of the Treasury from 1999-2001. What "Larry" was talking about were the concepts of "pride in ownership" and "personal responsibility". When something is not owned (borrowed), the tendency is to dismiss it as someone else's problem. Rather than taking responsibility for maintenance and upkeep, the item is often abused, then turned back to the real owner in less than desirable condition. Having a ownership stake in something means to take care of it.
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Benjamin Franklin

If one of the greatest minds of the modern age can be this fond of beer, it must be virtuous! We believe that everything happens for a reason so it was no accident that fermentation of some ancient god-awful swill evolved into the modern day craft brewing industry. Ben thought God brought it to us - We're OK with that. The end justifies the means!
It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.
Thomas Sowell

It was very difficult to pick just one quote from this man who has said so many brilliant things. Thomas Sowell is a modern American economist and is a hero of ours. We have honestly never heard him say anything that did not resonate deeply within us. He is talking about government in this quote, but it can apply equally to business and to the brewing industry. Entrepreneurs, by the definition of the free-market system are forced to make good decisions or they won't stay in business for long. Word.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.
Audrey Hepburn

Duh! Why can't more people live by this wise idea? Audrey Hepburn (born Audrey Kathleen Ruston; 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) was a British actress and humanitarian. Recognized as both a film and fashion icon, Hepburn was active during Hollywood's Golden Age. She has since been ranked as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema and been placed in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame, alongside Brandie and Sonya.
